TeamHealth has an excellent full-time opportunity for a Physician Assistant to join our Observation Unit of the Emergency Department at Banner Baywood in Mesa, Arizona. This 45-bed hospital has a patient volume of 55,000 per year and an admission rate of 18 %. The 25 bed Observation unit has 24 hours of APC coverage working 8-10 hour shifts. This is a fast-paced unit that works in close collaboration with the emergency department, consultants, support staff of the unit, and Banner administrative physicians. Types of cases that will be seen include, cardiac, neurological, surgical, medical, and include trauma, overdoses, and even some psychiatric disorders. There is 24/7 supervising physician oversight, and on-site emergency physician and hospitalist in-house coverage.

We ask that you have significant clinical experience in emergency medicine, hospital medicine, cardiology or critical care with ACLS certification.

The hospital offers 177 private rooms, nine operating suites and an Emergency department with 37 private treatment rooms. The 60-acre campus has the capacity to triple in size with the addition of two patient towers and coordinating support services.
